Today is my wife’s birthday. I’ve learned from her, that birthdays mean taking just a moment to really express how we care for someone else – to celebrate them – and let them know who they are to you. It doesn’t need to be elaborate, and it doesn’t require a huge investment, just a moment to consider one genuine aspect of who that person is and let them know about it.
For more than a year I’ve been assembling photos that I hope capture who Marie is to me
– a strong and thoughtful woman of vision and compassion –
I hope that the pictures that follow help to share that same feeling with you. Perhaps they help you to remember that we’re all worthy of celebration, and that it doesn’t really take a birthday to remind someone that they matter, that they’re special, and that they impact your life. Not elaborate – no huge investment – just a moment to tell them who they are to you.
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Proverb 31:25-26.
